spokane's OLDEST independent elevator company, est. 2010

Serving eastern Washington, central washinton and north idaho

Our company is a locally owned and operated family business serving Eastern Washington and North Idaho. Inland Elevator was founded by three brothers in October 2010. We have decades of combined elevator experience and an additional 25 years of military experience maintaining electromechanical systems. We are a 100% veteran-owned small business (VOSB) recognized at the state and federal levels.

While working for the larger companies in the Spokane area, we recognized an opportunity to provide better service at a lower price to local businesses. In October 2010, we decided to strike out independently and pursue the "American Dream." Since 2010, our company has gained customers throughout Washington State and North Idaho. As an independent company, we are highly adaptive and knowledgeable and provide excellent customer support. As a local company, we are dedicated to providing honest, flexible service for other business owners. Thank you for being so interested in our company.

We look forward to serving you!

Dan Garrett - Owner, Mechanic, Service & Repair Manager

Before entering the Elevator Industry, Dan was a Nuclear Machinist Mate (MM) in the US Navy. This field is challenging to enter and even more rigorous to complete. That knowledge and his electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic skills give him a solid foundation and understanding of this trade. As a mechanic for one of the larger companies, he excelled in all aspects of this trade. Dan is experienced in Construction, Service, Repair, Modernization, and advanced troubleshooting. Dan enjoys mountain biking, backcountry snowboarding, teaching/mentoring, and working in his shop on various projects.

Ben Garrett - Owner, Mechanic, Modernization & Installation Manager

Ben entered the elevator trade after 8.5 years as an electrician's Mate (EM) in the US Coast Guard. He advanced quickly based on his comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems and his dedication to his rate. He was hand-picked to assist in constructing the electrical systems on the USCGC Healy (WAGB-20) and was eventually stationed on this state-of-the-art Icebreaker. Ben's electrical skills, paired with his mechanical abilities, allowed him to excel as an elevator apprentice. As an elevator mechanic at Inland Elevator, Ben is exceptionally skilled in the field and managing Modernization and Installation. Ben enjoys riding his Harley, golfing, and snowboarding whenever possible.

Josh Garrett - Owner, Mechanic, Administration

Josh began his elevator career after 10 years as a Fire Controlman (FC) in the US Navy. He worked on electrical and mechanical weapons systems, specializing in 3D RADAR. While working for 2 of the larger elevator companies in Spokane, Josh primarily worked in Repair and Modernization. This exposed him to a wide variety of different manufacturers and ages of equipment. He continues to expand his skill set and knowledge of the trade. Josh enjoys riding his Harley, kayaking, golfing, and snowboarding with his brothers.

Mary Richards - Sales Representative, Office Manager

Mary has been in the elevator industry since 1994. During that time, she has been part of sales development, management, and office administration, and even spent some time early in her career as an apprentice in the field. She has held membership in such organizations as BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) and WSSHE (Washington State Society for Healthcare Engineering). Her drive for a career in elevators led her to numerous accreditations and classes to increase her knowledge. Mary handles many of the day-to-day operations and keeps us organized. She enjoys the outdoors, Spokane Chiefs, and her pups.
